Nothing coming through the speakers, just induction and engine noise. Very 911, such airbox, wow.
They're right:

one of the appeal of the 3 is that it has a distinctive and evocative sound, unlike the smoother 4. Im for the 3 pot future...but im more for the I6's they need to bring back with them.

Is it wrong that I actually want an i3? Really, the styling is starting to grow on me, and the electric only range isn't bad...

Not wrong at all. If I didn't live in such a rural area I would have one for quick trips around a city. I like the funkiness. Low $30s if you live in CA with credits, Mid-$30s everywhere else for a decent spec.

Unfortunately I'm in Canada, so the price is a bit steeper up here. I've also yet to hear how well they handle working in cold (sub-freezing) weather. Either way, they seem to be very well built, good handling little cars.
Another option I'd gladly consider is Gordon Murray's T.27. Unfortunately no one has picked up production yet.

I call BS. BMW's been artificially playing engines notes through cars speakers for a while now.

It's a pre-production i8 without the "Active Sound" coming through the speakers enabled. It was turned off for testing.
